iPhone Chinese Chess

If you have been enjoying playing Ajax Chinese Chess on your desktop or laptop browsers, I think you might like iPhone Chinese Chess. Just simply point the Safari browser on your iPhone or iPod Touch to http://ipc.pragmaticlogic.com, then start playing.

If you don't have an iPhone or you just want to have a feel for how the game plays on the iPhone, this simulator to the right here is made just for those purposes. No, that's not just a screenshot. That's a real simulator (does real and simulate go together?).

A few hints about playing the game on the iPhone and its simulator:

  • » No drag and drop. Instead, point and click as drag and drop is not easy to operate on iPhone.
  • » Since real estate is scarce on iPhone, I don't know how to include all the options like on the desktop browsers. One of the missing commands is the "New Game" command. But don't worry. As soon as the game is finished, it will restart to a new game in 5 seconds.
  • » On the simulator, the only command supported is the "Reload" command.

By the way, the iPhone Chinese Chess was designed and built specifically for the iPhone, or more accurately the Safari browser on iPhone. The fact that this simulator runs on most desktop browsers is just a bonus. However, please do not attempt to run this on IE6. It will run, but it will look ugly because I did not bother to apply the transparancy filter to png images.

Anyhow, enjoy Chinese Chess on the iPhone or the simulator...
